GoodPeople is a Baton Rouge-based full-service search and recruiting firm that provides IT Staffing Services to a wide range of clients, locally and regionally. The firm was founded in 1987 and initially operated as an independent before joining a national staffing franchise in 1992. In April 2005, we formed GoodPeople and once again operate as an independent company backed by world-class resources.

GoodPeople is not just our company name but reflective of our company principle and the guideline we use to conduct business. We do not just place candidates; we place the best people for the job. We conduct extensive searches to find the people that excel at what they do. We do not just work with any company, but rather those companies that we can foster partnerships with and grow with together.  We partner with good people, we place good people, and that is what makes us GoodPeople.

You receive the benefit of local ownership backed by world class global resources.  GoodPeople is part of the People 2.0 network (People 2.0 ), a national network of independent owners.  People 2.0, our back office support partner, allow us to focus on our customers and recruiting the best talent.  We have state of the art tools and technology including:

  • Web-based ATS (Accessible to hiring managers)
  • Web-based time keeping (Client email approval)
  • National purchasing power

Our Culture

We practice what we preach and the "Home Office" is not only for Owners. Our office and systems can be fully functional from home or any internet connection, and we have three Mom's that work from thier home offices. There is some incredible talent in the marketplace who would like to work from home and spend more time with thier children, and we hope to encourage more of our clients to consider this working relationship.

The People behind GoodPeople:

Mignon Sweeney, PE (Owner | CFO) After completing her Masters in Chemical Engineering from Tulane, Mignon worked for five years in the Oil and Gas consulting business for EDG in Metairie, LA. Mignon juggled two careers until November 2005, and currently she is CFO of GoodPeople while facilitating meetings for our Management Team and Advisory Board. Mignon enjoys running, beach volleyball, being a "sneaky chef", and playing with her three boys - Merritt (4), Grant (2), and newborn Nathan. Follow Mignon on: LinkedIn | Facebook

Craig Sweeney (Owner | Recruiter) Craig worked for four summers in direct sales for The Southwestern Company while at LSU. He brought that experience to the family business of Recruiting and has been in Sales, Management, and Recruiting since 1994. Craig still operates a "desk" specializing in IT/Technical & Accounting/Financial searches. Craig enjoys running, swimming, biking, beach volleyball, and spending time with Mignon and the boys. Jessica Wright (Office Coordinator) Upon graduating from the University of Louisiana of Lafayette in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration, Jessica moved home to Baton Rouge and began a career in the mortgage industry.  She worked as an Underwriter until she had her daughter in early 2007.  It was then that Jessica decided to make a career change; she wanted to work for a company who would allow her to have a more flexible schedule and would understand the responsibilities of a working mother. In August 2007 she joined the GoodPeople team as our Office Coordinator and Payroll Specialist.  Jessica had found her place.   In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.

Jaqi Clements (Recruiter) Jaqi graduated from Towson University in 2005 with a BS in Psychology.  Throughout College and for the remainder of 2005, Jaqi worked as a Promotional Model and Brand Ambassador for companies such as Kellogs, Pepsi-Cola, Starbucks, and Anheuser-Busch.  In February of 2006, Jaqi transitioned into a recruiting role at a women-owned boutique recruiting firm based out of College Park, Maryland.  There she worked on all aspects of Business Development and Recruiting, in addition to training new staff members and acting as the Office Manager.  To date, she has made the largest direct- hire placement the company has seen.

In July of 2008, Jaqi and her husband, Kevin, welcomed a baby boy.  The following month her family relocated down to Baton Rouge when her husband accepted an Assistant Swimming Coach Position at LSU.  Jaqi joined GoodPeople in October of 2008 and has been contributing to our success since then.

Lilia Carreras (Business Development) From 1990 to 1997, Lilia had an impressive career with XEROX consistently performing at 125% to over 192% above sales quotas in CA.  She then transferred those skills to Boston Scientific and was a Top Ten performer from 1997-2002.  Her career was off to a great start...and then she became a Mom.   Lilia came to GoodPeople in 2008 to explore options and re-enter the workforce.  We were very impressed by her background and that she consistently performed on a high level.  What made her situation even more challenging is Lilia was six months pregnant at the time, and she wanted to work part-time from home.  We hired Lilia to focus on Lead Generation and also monitor staffing trends with our clients and the market in general.

Jessica Frederick (On-Site Staffing Coordinator) After finishing her Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of West Florida, Jessica moved back home to Louisiana. She currently serves as Good People’s point of contact and Staffing Coordinator for the EA - North American Testing Center, a facility set up in Baton Rouge by Electronic Arts.  In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
